As you arrive at the Turnstone Cottage, you’ll be drawn to the fanciful triangular windows that give the home its eclectic charm. When you enter the front door, the craftsmanship and quality will be immediately evident.
You’ll find the cottage to be immaculately clean, with lovely, welcoming touches throughout. We take pride in offering an upscale experience, from the high-end furnishings to the LL Bean linens.
Designed as a magically relaxing, luxurious, yet playful space, we invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and allow the comfort and care to envelop you.
Guests who practice yoga and meditation will be particularly pleased with quiet nature of the area. To facilitate your practices, we are pleased to provide yoga mats and pillows in the loft area.
About Turnstone Cottage
We love the rustic elegance of our shiplap walls and wood-beam ceilings and hope our guests find them as calming and restorative as we do. The living room features a comfortable seating group, centered around a centerpiece unique light fixture. A large flat screen TV is provided for your enjoyment.
The highly functional and fully equipped kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances and a Nespresso machine.
The first of two bedroom suites features a king-size bed, dual vanities and lamps, with an ensuite bath with tub/shower. The second bedroom suite has a queen bed, also with dual vanities and lamps. The ensuite bath has a spacious walk-in shower.
A charmingly unique feature of the Turnstone Cottage is the second-story loft. Accessible from either the custom-made ladder in the living room and an outside staircase, it features two twin beds. Just outside the door is a porch, perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of nature, in the fresh, sweet Maine air.
The covered front porch is another great spot to curl up with a good book, as you enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings. With the dining table for 6, it makes for a lovely semi-alfresco meal. The gas grill allows for fun and easy family barbecues.

Beautiful arts in the cottage! Location is very close to Bass Harbor Lighthouse if you intend to catch the view of sunset and the lighthouse in one picture! Also close enough to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

This is a beautiful cottage in the woods-absolutely quiet and very close to the west wide of Acadia (Echo Lake, Seawall, Bass Harbor). Everything is new and lovely; we especially appreciated the washer and dryer! We loved eating on the screened-in porch, and the beds were comfy. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Turnstone Cottage is the perfect choice for a MDI getaway! The space is stylish and comfortable. The screened in porch is great for lounging. Lots of windows and high ceilings make the cottage feel bigger than it is. The upstairs loft is great for kids! We look forward to returning next summer!

This was a lovely house to rent! Location was great - close enough to town and still private. And nice to be out of the way of busy bar harbor.
Everything in the house feels brand new and super clean. Kristen and richard were super responsive and gracious hosts.

Turnstone was a perfect place for our trip- we were able to do a great morning hike, return for lunch and then do an evening hike. The house was impeccably clean, and well appointed. Great space and we (Dad with 3 teen kids taking a long weekend after college visit) highly recommend this place!

This place was amazing. Brand new construction, high end finishes, BEAUTIFUL wood work through out, nespresso, nice large screened in porch, staircase access to loft (which was great for my parents who are older), bathrooms were great with high end finishes,Sonos, etc. Cannot say enough great things about it. Close to shops and restaurants of southwest harbor and the harbor itself. We WILL be back to rent from them again.
